August Meeting Recap
Last night, 100 Women Who Care - Elk Rapids Area gathered at the A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort pavilion with their usual enthusiasm and positive energy.
Three informative nonprofit nomination presentations were made by Lee Kerr for Antrim County High Tea for Breast Cancer Prevention, Glori Crowell for Do A Little Good and Linda Woodward for Torch Conservation Center.
Do a Little Good was selected by our members to receive our collective donation to continue their work in the community and help launch a new food insecurity project aimed at providing 24 hour/day access to nourishing food.

REPORT FROM RIGHT TREE
Craig Mosher, Founder of Right Tree and current board member, shared that our $26,500 gift allowed them to update their “infrastructure," including purchasing a trailer and camping gear for their summer adventure program for middle-school girls. About $9,000 will be held in reserve and used toward the purchase of a van or pontoon. Craig stressed that support by 100 Women Who Care – Elk Rapids Area sends a powerful message to the girls that we believe in them, fostering their growth as confident, compassionate teens.
THE POWER OF CONNECTING
Member Sylvia Schonauer-Kalchik shared an inspirational story about how connections formed as a result of her presentation for Antrim Women’s Alliance at our May meeting helped launch the Antrim Scholars Program. She encouraged each of us to consider how we can use our personal talents, interests and connections to engage with area nonprofits. If you missed Sylvia’s story, you’ll want to read it here: Antrim Scholars Story
